ABOUT CITY AND FIELD
"The adaptive re-use of architecturally significant properties"
This is the common thread that has woven its way through Kevin Comer’s lifetime of real property investing. Beginning with his first project 30 years ago: the historical renovation of a mixed use property in Columbus Ohio that earned the Caretakers of a Legacy Award from the German Village Society; through his professional career as founder of Beck Street Capital investing in and restoring such New York City classics as 625 Broadway, 30 West 21stStreet and the much-loved Pierre Deux buildings on Bleecker Street; and now through his personal investing arm City and Field, Mr. Comer has always believed that good architecture is worth preserving and restoring. City and Field is a design - build firm focusing on unique properties of architectural merit. With projects as diverse as mid century modern restorations in Palm Springs, farmhouses in Connecticut, and land parcels in Pioneertown, the primary focus of City and Field over the next couple of years is Healthy House: a project devoted to determining alternative methods of design and construction that eliminates the use of hazardous substances from the development process.
